The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Southeastern Davidson County in Middle Tennessee...
Wilson County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 115 AM CDT.
* At 1021 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to an area
of showers with a few embedded thunderstorms within it. This will
cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.
Doppler radar estimates one up to around two inches of rain has
already fallen across southeastern portions of Davidson County.
These rainfall rates could continue as this area of showers with a
few embedded thunderstorms within it continues to move slowly
northeastward.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lebanon, Hendersonville, La Vergne, Mount Juliet, Lakewood,
Watertown, Hermitage, Rural Hill, Antioch, Belinda City, Tuckers
Crossroads, Dickerson Chapel Recreation Area, Percy Priest Lake and
Gladeville.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 214 and 250.
Interstate 24 between mile markers 57 and 58.
Interstate 840 between mile markers 68 and 76.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
