...NWS Damage Survey for November 18 Tornado Event...

.Overview...
So far, two EF-1 tornadoes as well as several areas of severe straight-
line winds have been surveyed across Middle Tennessee.  More damage
assessments will be forthcoming in the following days and all of this
information is preliminary and subject to change.

.Joelton EF-1 Tornado...

Survey Summary:

Tornado started just south of Interstate 24 as a weak EF-0 just west of
Joelton causing damage mostly to trees and outbuildings on Clarksville
Pike Road. The tornado crossed Interstate 24 and intensified as it struck
several neighborhoods off of Union Hill Road. Significant roof damage
occurred to two homes with dozens of mature trees snapped and uprooted.
Power poles were snapped as well. The tornado rapidly dissipated close
to Wilkinson Road.

Survey Summary:

Tornado began as a weak EF-0 tornado in far southeastern Davidson County
causing mostly minor tree and roof damage before crossing Percy Priest Lake.
More damage was observed in the far northwest portion of Rutherford County before
the tornado intensified to EF-1 and moved into southern Wilson County.  The most
significant damage was surveyed in Gladeville where dozens of trees were snapped or
uprooted and several outbuildings were destroyed.  A few homes sustained roof damage
especially in the Stonefield Neighborhood.  The tornado lifted just after hitting
a church in Gladeville knocking the steeple off.

EF Scale:  The Enhanced Fujita Scale Classifies Tornadoes into
the following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 MPH
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 MPH
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 MPH
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 MPH
EF4...Violent...166 To 200 MPH
EF5...Violent...>200 MPH
