The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Tornado Warning for...
Northwestern White County in Middle Tennessee...
Southwestern Putnam County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 515 PM CDT
* At 442 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Baxter, or 10 miles southwest of Cookeville,
moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* Locations impacted include...
Cookeville, Sparta, Algood, Baxter, Hamptons Crossroads, Bakers
Crossroads and Burgess Falls State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
This Tornado Warning replaces the Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued
for the same area.
