...February was much warmer and drier than normal in Nashville...
The average temperature for Nashville in February was 51.3
degrees. This is 9.6 degrees warmer than normal and makes
February tied with 1932 for the second warmest February on
record. The warmest February occurred in 1882 with an average
monthly temperature of 51.4 degrees. One daily record was broken
in February when the high temperature reached 81 degrees on
February 24th. This broke the old daily record for that day of 77
degrees, which was set in 1890. The 24th was also the highest
temperature reached this month in Nashville. The lowest
temperature was 20 degrees on February 4th. Temperatures fell
below freezing only 6 days throughout the month.
The total amount of precipitation in February at Nashville was
1.56 inches. This is 2.38 inches below normal. That makes this
February the 14th driest February since Nashville began keeping
record back in 1870. The greatest 24-hour precipitation total was
0.64 inches and occurred on the 14th and 15th. There was no snow
reported during the month.
The average monthly wind speed was 8.4 miles per hour. The peak
wind gust was 47 miles per hour on the 24th.

Crossville's average temperature for the month of February was
46.2 degrees. This was 6.9 degrees above normal and made this
February the 2nd warmest on record for Crossville. The warmest
February was in 1976 when the average monthly temperature was 46.9
degrees. The highest temperature reached in February in
Crossville was 73 degrees on the 24th. This broke the old daily
record for that day, which was 70 degrees set in 1982. Another
daily record was set on February 12th when the temperature reached
68 degrees. This broke the previous record of 67 degrees set in
1961. Crossville's climate records date back to 1954.
Crossville measured 2.68 inches of rainfall in February which was
1.78 inches below normal. This was the 12th driest February since
Crossville records began. The greatest 24-hour rainfall fell on
