...Light Snow Expected Across Middle Tennessee...
Patchy flurries or very light snow will develop across Middle
Tennessee late tonight. A couple of slick spots could develop by
daybreak Sunday, but should improve quickly Sunday morning as
temperatures rise above freezing.
Through the day Sunday, there will be scattered rain and snow
showers. No major travel problems are expected with temperatures
above freezing.
By Sunday evening, temperatures will fall, and precipitation will
change to all snow. Most of the mid-state will have snowfall
amounts ranging from just flurries to a dusting. However, locations
northeast of Interstate 24 will have greater accumulation
potential, with around 1 inch expected for the Upper Cumberland
Region. Higher elevations of the Plateau could have 1 to 2 inches
of snowfall Sunday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory may become
necessary for these areas as travel problems could develop across
Middle Tennessee, especially Sunday night. Temperatures will be
in the 20s Sunday night, so any travel problems could impact
Monday morning work and school travel.
Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, your local media, or
weather.gov for the latest updates on this snow.
