...Gusty winds expected across the Cumberland Plateau Region
Tuesday into Tuesday Evening...
A strong surface pressure gradient will become established across
tHe Cumberland Plateau Region on Tuesday, as a surface frontal
system develops and moves out of the central plains Tuesday
morning and pushes rapidly northeastward into the Great Lakes
Region by Tuesday evening. This will result in sustained winds
of generally 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 35 mph...and
with gust up to 40 mph across the higher elevations...of the
Cumberland Plateau Region on Tuesday. These sustained winds should
last at least through the mid evening hours on Tuesday night.
Some tree limbs and power lines may be blow down with isolated
power outages possible also. Loose outdoor objects will be blown
around. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile
vehicles on east-west roadways. Use extra caution while traveling
