Survey Summary: Straight-line winds damaged an awning and blew over
a small weak tree at Thomas Magnet School near downtown Shelbyville.
A nearby two-story motel lost half of its roof. This portion of the
roof appeared to be an "add-on" to an original flat roof...and
appeared to be poorly constructed with 2 by 4 rafters and a sheet
metal surface. No other damage was noted in this concentrated
commercial area of the city.
Thanks to the Bedford County Emergency Management Agency for
participating with the National Weather Service in this damage
survey.
