IN SPITE OF A WET FINISH TO NOVEMBER, OVERALL CONDITIONS REMAINED
WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL. JUST 1.87 INCHES OF RAIN WERE
RECORDED AT THE NASHVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. OF THIS AMOUNT,
0.15 INCHES WERE MEASURED THE FIRST 27 DAYS OF THE MONTH. RAINFALL
WAS MEASURED ON A TOTAL OF 7 DAYS, THE MOST OCCURRING ON THE
28TH, WHEN 1.12 INCHES FELL. NORMAL RAINFALL FOR NOVEMBER IS 4.31
INCHES. NO SNOW WAS OBSERVED DURING THE MONTH.
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR NOVEMBER WAS 55.3 DEGREES, WHICH WAS
5.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS MAKES NOVEMBER, 2016 THE FIFTH
WARMEST ON RECORD. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE WAS 88 DEGREES ON THE
FIRST. THIS RANKS AS THE SINGLE WARMEST TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED
IN NASHVILLE IN NOVEMBER, WITH RECORDS GOING BACK TO 1871. THE
COLDEST TEMPERATURE WAS 26 DEGREES, WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 21ST AND
AGAIN ON THE 27TH. THERE WERE 5 DAYS IN WHICH THE TEMPERATURE FELL
TO 32 DEGREES OR BELOW.
THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED WAS 6.0 MILES AN HOUR. THE FASTEST GUST WAS
42 MPH, WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 18TH. THERE WERE NO THUNDERSTORMS
DAYS. THE AVERAGE CLOUD COVER WAS EXACTLY FIVE-TENTHS. THE AVERAGE
RELATIVE HUMIDITY WAS 58 PERCENT.
AT CLARKSVILLE'S OUTLAW FIELD, TOTAL RAINFALL WAS 1.93 INCHES.
THE GREATEST ONE-DAY AMOUNT WAS 1.09 INCHES MEASURED ON THE 28TH.
THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 9 DAYS WITH MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION. NORMAL
RAINFALL FOR NOVEMBER IS 4.58 INCHES.
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 51.9 DEGREES, WHICH IS 3.5 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST DAY WAS THE 1ST, WHEN THE MERCURY
REACHED 85 DEGREES. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE WAS 24 DEGREES, WHICH
OCCURRED ON BOTH THE 21ST AND 27TH. THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 9 DAYS
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO 32 DEGREES OR BELOW.
MEANWHILE, CROSSVILLE MEMORIAL AIRPORT RECEIVED MUCH MORE
RAINFALL THAN OTHER PARTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE. FOR NOVEMBER, A
TOTAL OF 5.23 INCHES OF RAINFALL OCCURRED, WHICH IS 0.13 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL. OF THIS AMOUNT, EXACTLY FIVE INCHES OCCURRED DURING
THE FINAL THREE DAYS, INCLUDING 2.38 INCHES ON THE 30TH.
PRECIPITATION WAS MEASURED ON JUST 5 DAYS.
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 50.7 DEGREES, WHICH WAS
3.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 81 DEGREES
ON THE 1ST, WHICH IS THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE EVER OBSERVED IN
CROSSVILLE IN NOVEMBER. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE WAS 22 DEGREES ON
THE 27TH. THERE WERE 9 DAYS IN WHICH THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO 32
DEGREES OR BELOW.
