The temperature for July in Nashville averaged 3.1 degrees above
normal. The average high was 92.5 degrees and the average low was
72.4 degrees. The warmest temperature during the month was 97
degrees on the 21st and again on the 26th. The coolest temperature
was 65 degrees on the 1st. July is the 6th consecutive month with
above normal temperatures. There were 24 days with the temperature
at 90 degrees or above. The hottest July on record in Nashville
was back in 1954, followed by 2012,1930,1901 and 1993.
Rainfall totaled 6.28 inches which is 2.64 inches above normal.
The greatest rainfall in a 24 hour period was 2.10 inches on the
6th and 7th. July was the 21st wettest on record. The wettest July
on record was back in 1878 when 9.43 inches of rain fell. Rainfall
through July in Nashville has totaled 25.18 inches which is 4.00
inches below normal.
The average wind speed was 4.5 miles an hour. The fastest gust was
60 miles an hour on the 8th.
There were 13 days with thunderstorms.
