.A STRONG UPPER LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL SWEEP A BAND OF MODERATE TO
HEAVY SNOW OVER NORTHERN PARTS OF THE MID STATE THIS MORNING...
WITH A MIX OF SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN OVER SOUTHERN
AREAS.
MOST OF THE AREA IS EXPECTED TO SEE SNOWFALL AND SLEET
ACCUMULATIONS BETWEEN 2 TO 6 INCHES...WITH MOST FREEZING RAIN
CAUSING ICE ACCUMULATION AROUND A TENTH TO A QUARTER OF AN INCH.
AREAS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 40...ESPECIALLY AREAS NEAR THE ALABAMA
BORDER AND ON THE SOUTHERN PLATEAU MAY SEE ICE ACCUMULATIONS ABOVE
ONE QUARTER INCH. LIKEWISE....LOCATIONS ACROSS THE EXTREME
NORTHWEST WILL LIKELY SEE TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 8 INCHES OR MORE.
MAJOR TRAVEL IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED IN THE MID STATE THIS MORNING.
