...WINTRY MIX POSSIBLE LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY...
WINTER MAY NOT BE FINISHED WITH MIDDLE TENNESSEE AS A LATE SEASON
WINTER WEATHER EVENT APPEARS POSSIBLE BEGINNING IN THE NORTHWEST
LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND SPREAD SOUTHEASTWARD SUNDAY NIGHT INTO
EARLY MONDAY. SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL BEGIN TO FILTER IN
FROM THE NORTHWEST LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON ALLOWING FOR THE
PRECIPITATION TO CHANGE OVER TO A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET.
THIS CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING AND FROZEN PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD
ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS SUNDAY INTO
MONDAY...BUT THE AREAS WITH THE LARGEST POTENTIAL FOR ANY
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATION OF ICE OR SLEET WILL BE NORTHWEST OF A
LINE FROM CLIFTON TO NASHVILLE TO CELINA.
IN ADDITION TO THE ICE AND SLEET POTENTIAL...IT WILL BECOME WINDY
SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING. NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH
WITH HIGHER GUSTS COULD EXACERBATE PROBLEMS IF ICE DOES BEGIN TO
ACCUMULATE ON TREES AND POWER LINES.
DIFFERENCES IN THE MODELS EXIST AT THIS TIME CONCERNING THE
ARRIVAL TIME OF THE COLD AIR SO THERE IS STILL LOW CONFIDENCE IN
THE AMOUNT OF ACCUMULATION ANY PART OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE MAY SEE.
PLEASE STAY TUNED THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND FOR THE LATEST ON THIS
DEVELOPING WINTER WEATHER POTENTIAL.
