JULY TURNED OUT TO BE COOLER THAN JUNE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE
2009 AND ONLY FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE 1971. THIS HAS ONLY
HAPPENED FIFTEEN TIMES SINCE RECORD KEEPING BEGAN WAY BACK ON
1870.
THE TEMPERATURE IN NASHVILLE FOR JULY 2014 AVERAGED 76.8 DEGREES
WHICH IS 2.6 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS 87.6
DEGREES AND THE AVERAGE LOW WAS 65.9 DEGREES. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE
DURING THE MONTH WAS 95 DEGREES ON THE 12TH AND 13TH. THE COOLEST
TEMPERATURE WAS 56 DEGREES ON THE 5TH. THERE WERE 15 DAYS 90
DEGREES OR ABOVE. THE HIGHEST HEAT INDEX DURING THE MONTH WAS 106
DEGREES ON JULY 27TH. TWO...LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE TIED
DURING THE MONTH. A LOW OF 57 DEGREES ON THE 16TH TIED THE RECORD
SET BACK IN 1886...AND 58 DEGREES ON THE 30TH TIED THE RECORD FOR

JULY WAS DRY ACROSS NORTHERN PARTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE WITH NASHVILLE
MEASURING 2.38 INCHES WHICH IS 1.26 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE GREATEST
RAINFALL DURING A 24 HOUR PERIOD WAS 1.26 INCHES ON THE 18TH AND 19TH.
THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRED ON 3 DAYS.
THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED WAS 5.0 MILES AN HOUR. THE FASTEST GUST WAS
36 MILES AN HOUR ON THE 1ST.
FOG OCCURRED ON 8 DAYS WITH NO DAYS WITH DENSE FOG.
