...SOME ACCUMULATING SNOW IS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND
PLATEAU AND NORTHERN AREAS OF THE MID STATE THROUGH TUESDAY
MORNING...
A POTENT UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL TRACK EASTWARD TOWARD THE
MIDDLE ATLANTIC ON MONDAY. TO THE WEST OF THIS FEATURE...A SERIES OF
DISTURBANCES WILL ROTATE SOUTHWARD AND BRING WINTRY PRECIPITATION
CHANCES TO THE MID STATE LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT.
MEANWHILE...BEHIND TODAY'S EARLIER COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE...MUCH
COLDER AIR WILL CONTINUE TO FILTER IN ACROSS THE AREA. BY MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT...THE AIRMASS WILL BE COLD ENOUGH TO SUPPORT ALL SNOWFALL.
AS FOR THE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION POTENTIAL...THE FIRST DISTURBANCE
WILL EFFECT THE AREA LATE TONIGHT AND INTO MONDAY. AREAS ALONG THE
CUMBERLAND PLATEAU COULD SEE ONE HALF TO 1 INCH OF SNOWFALL BY
MONDAY AFTERNOON. ACROSS NON PLATEAU AREAS OF NORTHERN MIDDLE
TN...ONLY MINOR ACCUMULATIONS OF LESS THAN ONE HALF INCH WILL BE
POSSIBLE. ACROSS SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF MIDDLE TN...NO MORE THAN A
TRACE IS EXPECTED.
A SECOND DISTURBANCE WILL IMPACT THE AREA ON MONDAY NIGHT. THIS
DISTURBANCE WILL BRING ADDITIONAL SNOW CHANCES WITH AN INCH OR TWO OF
SNOWFALL BEING POSSIBLE ALONG THE PLATEAU. UP TO 1 INCH WILL BE
POSSIBLE ACROSS NON PLATEAU AREAS OF NORTHERN MIDDLE TN. ACROSS
THE SOUTH...AGAIN...NO MORE THAN A TRACE IS EXPECTED.
FOLLOWING A FEW SNOW FLURRIES INTO TUESDAY AFTERNOON...PARTIAL
CLEARING IS THEN EXPECTED.
MOTORISTS TRAVELING ACROSS THE PLATEAU AND NORTHERN AREAS OF THE
MID STATE SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS WITH
THIS POTENTIAL EARLY SPRING WINTER WEATHER SITUATION. STAY TUNED FOR
ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS OR ADVISORIES...SHOULD THEY BE NEEDED.
