PINEY RIVER NEAR VERNON AFFECTING HICKMAN COUNTY
.HEAVY RAINFALL TODAY HAS CAUSED THE PINEY RIVER NEAR VERNON TO RISE AND INUNDATE
LOW LYING AREAS ALONG ITS BANKS. THE RIVER HAS CRESTED AND WILL CONTINUE TO SUBSIDE
TONIGHT...BUT ADDITIONAL RAINFALL MAY CAUSE ANOTHER RISE IN THE RIVER LATE.

* AT 07PM SATURDAY THE STAGE WAS 10.9 FEET AND FALLING.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 14.0 FEET.
* THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE TO FALL TO NEAR 8.0 FEET BY TOMORROW MORNING.
* AT 10.0 FEET...WATER BEGINS TO OVERFLOW THE NATURAL BANKS AND INUNDATES LOW
LYING AREAS ALONG THE RIVER FROM INTERSTATE 40 TO NEAR PINEWOOD...NUNNELLY...
AND DOWN TO THE DUCK RIVER.
