AREAS AFFECTED...EXTREME SRN ILLINOIS/ WRN AND CNTRL KENTUCKY/FAR
WRN NORTH CAROLINA/MIDDLE AND ERN TENNESSEE
CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 115...
VALID 172053Z - 172200Z
THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 115
CONTINUES.
SUMMARY...THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED ALONG AND AHEAD OF A WWD
MOVING OUTFLOW BOUNDARY ACROSS MUCH OF CNTRL KY AND MIDDLE
TENNESSEE. AN ISOLATED SEVERE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND THREAT WILL
REMAIN POSSIBLE INTO THE EARLY EVENING.
DISCUSSION...AFTERNOON SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATES A WELL DEFINED
OUTFLOW BOUNDARY CURRENTLY PROGRESSING WWD ACROSS PORTIONS OF CNTRL
KENTUCKY AND MIDDLE TENNESSEE. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED
ALONG AND AHEAD OF PORTIONS OF THIS OUTFLOW BOUNDARY WHERE MLCAPE
VALUES RANGE FROM 1000-2000 J/KG. THIS WILL SUPPORT LOCALIZED
VIGOROUS UPDRAFTS...HOWEVER...WEAK DEEP LAYER SHEAR WILL PRECLUDE
WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORM ORGANIZATION. THUS...THE SEVERE THREAT
SHOULD REMAIN FAIRLY ISOLATED INTO THE EARLY EVENING...WITH THE
PRIMARY CONCERN BEING ISOLATED SEVERE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.
