THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE TN HAS CONFIRMED AN
EF-0 TORNADO NEAR GRANT IN SMITH COUNTY TENNESSEE ON 10/01/2012.
AN EF-0 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN JUST NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40 IN THE
GRANT COMMUNITY BEFORE ENDING NEAR HIGHWAY 141. DAMAGE INCLUDED
NUMEROUS TREES BLOWN OVER OR SNAPPED WITH SOME UNDERCARRIAGE
DAMAGE AT A MOBILE HOME ON SP MCCLANAHAN ROAD.
THIS IS THE FIRST TORNADO ON RECORD TO OCCUR DURING THE MONTH OF
OCTOBER IN SMITH COUNTY.
