THE HIGH TEMPERATURE REACHED 105 DEGREES AT NASHVILLE ON SUNDAY.
THIS TOPS THE OLD RECORD FOR JULY 1 OF 101 DEGREES THAT WAS SET IN
1954. THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF 81 ALSO BROKE THE DAILY RECORD FOR
THE WARMEST LOW. THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 77 DEGREES WAS REACHED
MULTIPLE TIMES, THE LAST BEING IN 1993.
JULY 1 GAVE NASHVILLIANS THEIR 4TH STRAIGHT DAY OF AT LEAST 105
DEGREES, WHICH IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED SINCE RECORD
KEEPING BEGAN IN 1871. THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 3 STRAIGHT 105
DEGREE DAYS OCCURRED IN JULY, 1952. THE PAST 4 DAYS HAVE BEEN THE
HOTTEST IN NASHVILLE'S HISTORY, WITH AN AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE
OF 106.5.
AT CROSSVILLE, THE HIGH TEMPERATURE YESTERDAY REACHED 99 DEGREES,
WHICH TOPPED THE PREVIOUS DAILY RECORD OF 95 DEGREES THAT OCCURRED
IN 1954. LIKE NASHVILLE, THIS GIVES CROSSVILLE 4 STRAIGHT DAYS OF
NEW RECORD HIGHS.
