...NASHVILLE'S NOAA WEATHER RADIO TRANSMITTER TEMPORARILY OUT OF
SERVICE...
THE NOAA WEATHER RADIO TRANSMITTER THAT BROADCASTS FROM DOWNTOWN
NASHVILLE BEGAN EXPERIENCING A DEGRADED SIGNAL ON THURSDAY
MORNING. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS FULLY AWARE OF THE
PROBLEM AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF ARRANGING FOR REPAIR AS QUICKLY
AS POSSIBLE. IN THE MEANTIME, LISTENERS ARE URGED TO TUNE TO
SURROUNDING TRANSMITTERS FOR THE NOAA WEATHER RADIO BROADCAST.
MANY LOCATIONS ARE SERVICED BY MORE THAN ONE TRANSMITTER, ALTHOUGH
THE SIGNAL FROM ALTERNATE SITES MAY BE CONSIDERABLY WEAKER.
A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS MIDDLE
TENNESSEE SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT. AT THIS TIME, SEVERE
WEATHER IS NOT ANTICIPATED.
