CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 340...343...
VALID 232058Z - 232230Z
THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
340...343...CONTINUES.
A SEVERE THREAT WILL LIKELY CONTINUE AS A LINE MOVES EWD INTO WRN KY
AND WRN TN LATE THIS AFTERNOON. FOR THIS REASON...A WW EXTENSION
WILL BE LIKELY ACROSS THE REGION OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
A NEARLY CONTINUOUS LINE OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IS
ONGOING FROM SE MO SWD ACROSS NE AR ALONG THE WRN EDGE OF MODERATE
TO STRONG INSTABILITY. MESOANALYSIS SHOWS MLCAPE VALUES RANGING FROM
1500 TO 25000 J/KG WHICH WILL FUEL THE MCS OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
THE LINE IS ALSO BEING SUPPORTED BY LARGE-SCALE ASCENT AHEAD OF A
SHORTWAVE TROUGH EVIDENT ON WATER VAPOR IMAGERY. MESOANALYSIS ALSO
SHOWS A WELL-DEFINED JET NEAR 700 MB WHICH IS LIKELY HELPING THE
LINE TO ORGANIZE A WIND DAMAGE THREAT. AS THE LINE MOVES EWD INTO
WRN TN AND WRN KY...THE WIND DAMAGE THREAT SHOULD CONTINUE. HAIL
WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE WITH THE MORE INTENSE ELEMENTS WITHIN THE
LINE.
