...THE FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM CDT SATURDAY FOR
HUMPHREYS...BENTON...STEWART...MONTGOMERY AND HOUSTON COUNTIES...
* AT 1030 AM CDT...THE CUMBERLAND RIVER LEVEL AT DOVER WAS AT 372.3
FEET AND SLOWLY FALLING. THE CUMBERLAND RIVER AT DOVER CRESTED AT
374.0 FEET DURING THE MAY FLOOD LAST YEAR.
AT CLARKSVILLE...THE RIVER LEVEL WAS AT 43.8 FEET (373.8 FEET MSL)
AND WILL BEGIN TO SLOWLY FALL LATE THIS AFTERNOON. FLOOD STAGE
AT CLARKSVILLE IS 46.0 FEET. THESE HIGH RIVER LEVELS WILL CAUSE
MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING ALONG THE CUMBERLAND RIVER DOWNSTREAM OF
CLARKSVILLE...IN STEWART AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES.
ON THE TENNESSEE RIVER...MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED
IN BENTON...HUMPHREYS...HOUSTON...AND STEWART COUNTIES ALONG THE
RIVER AND ON THE TRIBUTARIES. AT 1030 AM...THE TENNESSEE RIVER IN
THE NEW JOHNSONVILLE AREA WAS NEAR 371.5 FEET AND FALLING. THE RIVER
IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FALLING TO NEAR 370.5 FEET SATURDAY
MORNING...AND CONTINUE FALLING THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.
