THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
A WEATHER DISTURBANCE WILL BRING A CHANCE FOR AN ACCUMULATING SNOW
TONIGHT OVER PARTS OF NORTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...WITH A HALF INCH
EXPECTED...GENERALLY EAST OF A LINE FROM LAFAYETTE...TO
SMITHVILLE...TO SPENCER. WEST OF THAT LINE...TO INTERSTATE 65 AND
NASHVILLE...YOU CAN EXPECT A DUSTING TO 1/2 INCH OF ACCUMULATION.
ROADS MAY BECOME SLIPPERY...AND MOTORISTS SHOULD ANTICIPATE
POSSIBLE TRAVEL PROBLEMS TO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
ANOTHER WEATHER DISTURBANCE WILL DROP SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE
AREA ON FRIDAY... KEEPING ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS
GOING. UP TO A HALF INCH OF ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATION IS
EXPECTED EAST OF A LINE FROM LAFAYETTE...TO SMITHVILLE...TO
SPENCER...WITH TOTAL ACCUMULATION UP TO ONE INCH.
A SIGNIFICANT WINTER WEATHER EVENT IS POSSIBLE EARLY NEXT WEEK...
FROM SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT...AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
MOVES ACROSS THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO AND UP THE SOUTHEAST
ATLANTIC COAST. WITH COLD AIR ALREADY IN PLACE...THERE IS POTENTIAL
FOR SOME SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WITH THIS SYSTEM.
HOWEVER...SINCE IT IS STILL THREE TO FOUR DAYS AWAY...THE EXACT
TRACK OF THE LOW PRESSURE AREA IS A BIT UNCERTAIN...AND
ACCUMULATION EXPECTATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. THEREFORE...YOU
SHOULD STAY TUNED AND LISTEN FOR THE LATEST FORECAST UPDATES FOR
YOUR AREA AS THE WEEKEND APPROACHES. LINGERING SNOW SHOWERS AND
FLURRIES WILL LIKELY LINGER INTO TUESDAY.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
SPOTTERS AND LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO REPORT ANY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
IN NASHVILLE.
