...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE, TN HAS ISSUED A FLOOD ADVISORY FOR
THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...
CUMBERLAND RIVER AT CLARKSVILLE AFFECTING MONTGOMERY COUNTY
.THE CUMBERLAND RIVER AT CLARKSVILLE HAS FALLEN BELOW FLOOD STAGE...ALLOWING THE
FLOOD WARNING TO BE CANCELED. HOWEVER...RIVER LEVELS WILL REMAIN HIGH OVER THE
NEXT SEVERAL DAYS...FLUCTUATING BETWEEN 43 FEET AND 46 FEET...AND A FLOOD ADVISORY
IS NOW IN EFFECT. THOSE WITH INTERESTS ALONG THE RIVER NEED TO WATCH THE LEVEL
CLOSELY OVER THE NEXT WEEK FOR FURTHER RISES. WATER BEHIND BARKLEY DAM IS BEING
HELD TO ALLEVIATE THE MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING ON THE OHIO AND MISSISSIPPI RIVERS.
THIS WILL CAUSE A SLOW RISE ON THE CUMBERLAND RIVER...FROM NEAR CLARKSVILLE DOWN
THROUGH DOVER.

THE CUMBERLAND RIVER AT CLARKSVILLE
* AT 01PM FRIDAY THE STAGE WAS 45.8 FEET AND SLOWLY FALLING.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 46.0 FEET.
* THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE TO FALL TO NEAR 45.5 FEET BY TOMORROW MORNING...
HOWEVER ADDITIONAL RISES ARE POSSIBLE NEXT WEEK.
* AT 46.0 FEET...THE LEFT BANK OF THE CUMBERLAND RIVER OVERFLOWS AND FLOODING
BEGINS IN CLARKSVILLE.
* AT 40.0 FEET...WATER LEVELS APPROACH LOW LYING AREAS ALONG THE BANKS.
