VALLEY LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT...
THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A FEW STRONG TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND
OVER PARTS OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT.
THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE
CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
NORTHERN LOUISIANA
NORTHWESTERN MISSISSIPPI
SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA
WESTERN TENNESSEE
NORTHEASTERN TEXAS
ELSEWHERE...SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE FROM...EASTERN PORTIONS
OF THE SOUTHERN PLAINS INTO THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI AND LOWER OHIO
VALLEY REGIONS.
SEVERE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND SOUTH
OF A STALLED FRONT OVER PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND LOWER
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AS THE ATMOSPHERE WARMS THIS AFTERNOON AND AN
UPPER WEATHER SYSTEM ARRIVES FROM THE WEST. STORMS THAT DEVELOP WILL
BECOME CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TORNADOES...A FEW OF WHICH COULD BE
STRONG...VERY LARGE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WIND. THE RISK FOR SEVERE
STORMS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE OVERNIGHT...BUT THE GREATEST THREAT IS
EXPECTED FROM MIDDLE TO LATE AFTERNOON THROUGH THE EVENING IN THE
MODERATE RISK AREA.
STATE AND LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGERS ARE MONITORING THIS DEVELOPING
SITUATION. THOSE IN THE THREATENED AREA ARE URGED TO REVIEW SEVERE
