AREAS AFFECTED...AR TN MS LA
CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 177...
VALID 170043Z - 170145Z
THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 177
CONTINUES.
QUASI-LINEAR MCS CONTINUES TO DEVELOP EWD/SEWD AROUND 30KT AND WILL
MOVE TO THE ERN EDGE OF WATCH 177 WITHIN THE HOUR. THIS SYSTEM HAS
LEFT A WELL-FORMED AND EXTENSIVE COLD POOL IN ITS WAKE ACROSS MUCH
OF AR. FORCED MESOSCALE ASCENT ASSOCIATED WITH THE COLD POOL
DYNAMICS...COUPLED WITH FAVORABLE LARGE-SCALE BACKGROUND
ASCENT...SHOULD ALLOW FOR FORWARD PROPAGATION OF DEEP CONVECTION
ACROSS WRN TN AND NRN MS NEXT 1-3 HOURS. GREATEST SEVERE WEATHER
THREAT SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE STRONG/DAMAGING WIND GUSTS NEAR APEX OF
BOWING STRUCTURES ALONG THE LINE. DIURNAL COOLING AND GRADUAL
STABILIZATION AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM SHOULD BEGIN TO INHIBIT
CONVECTIVE INTENSITY AS THE COMPLEX SPREADS EAST TOWARD AL.
THUS...LOCAL EXPANSION OF WATCH 177 ACROSS PARTS OF TN/MS REMAINS
POSSIBLE BUT A NEW WATCH WILL PROBABLY NOT BE NEEDED TO THE EAST OF
EXTENDED PORTIONS OF WATCH 177.
