CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH POSSIBLE
VALID 072207Z - 080000Z
STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE ALONG A COLD FRONT WITH SEVERE HAIL
AND PERHAPS A FEW WIND GUSTS THIS EVENING.
STORMS ARE CURRENTLY INCREASING ALONG THE COLD FRONT EXTENDING SWWD
ACROSS SERN IL INTO SERN MO.
ALTHOUGH STRONG CIN EXISTS OVER MUCH OF THE AREA...CONVERGENCE ALONG
THE FRONT...COMBINED WITH MODEST MOISTURE ADVECTION IN THE LOW
LEVELS AND HEIGHT FALLS WITH THE UPPER TROUGH SHOULD RESULT IN A NET
INCREASE IN STORM COVERAGE AND INTENSITY. FORECAST SOUNDINGS SHOW
RELATIVELY STEEP MID TO UPPER LEVEL LAPSE RATES AND AMPLE SPEED
SHEAR FOR LONG LIVED STORMS. ALTHOUGH STORM MOTIONS WILL BE FAST...A
GENERAL DECREASE IN LOW LEVEL LAPSE RATES MAY MARGINALIZE THE WIND
THREAT.
