DEKALB...JACKSON...MARSHALL...PUTNAM...RUTHERFORD...SMITH...WARREN...
WHITE AND WILSON COUNTIES...
AT 651 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A
STRONG GUST FRONT...AND STRONG THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AREA. SHORTLY BEFORE
700 PM...THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING MAINLY FROM JUST NORTH OF
LEWISBURG...TO NEAR MURFREESBORO...WATERTOWN...CARTHAGE...AND JUST
SOUTH OF GAINESBORO. A GUST FRONT...WITH STRONG GUSTY WINDS...WAS OBSERVED
ABOUT 5 TO 15 MILES OUT AHEAD OF THE STORMS.
BOTH THE STORMS AND THE GUST FRONT WILL CONTINUE MOVING EAST SOUTHEAST
AT 35 MPH...ACCOMPANIED BY POSSIBLE WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH.
WINDS THIS STRONG CAN EASILY BREAK TREE LIMBS AND DOWN WEAK...SHALLOW
ROOTED TREES...AS OCCURRED EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON IN COTTONTOWN.
