...Thirty consecutive days of 90-degree weather...

Today's high temperature at Nashville reached 90 degrees for the
30th consecutive day. This is only the fourth time since record-
keeping began in 1871 that Nashville has observed 30 straight
90-degree days. The longest such streak is 34 days, which occurred
just 3 years ago, from July 26 through August 28, 2007.

The average high temperature during the current streak has been
95.0 degrees. The highest temperature observed during that stretch
has been 101 degrees on August 4.

The two other occurrences of 30 consecutive days of 90-degree
weather occurred during the summers of 1952 and 1954, when 31
consecutive days were observed of high temperatures reaching at
least 90 degrees.

The latest National Weather Service forecast for Nashville
indicates a high temperature of 91 degrees on Tuesday, 90 degrees
on Wednesday, 92 on Thursday, 94 on Friday, and 91 on Saturday,
which would be the potential record-breaking 35th consecutive day
of 90-degree weather.
