NASHVILLE EXPERIENCED ITS FOURTH MONTH IN A ROW OF BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED IN 15 YEARS.
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR MARCH WAS 48.74 DEGREES...WHICH IS 1.4
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 78 ON THE LAST
DAY...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 23 DEGREES ON THE 6TH. THERE WAS NOT A
FREEZE AFTER THE 7TH...WHICH HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE 1938. THE
EARLIEST LAST FREEZE ON RECORD IS MARCH 5TH 1927. TOTAL
PRECIPITATION WAS 3.52 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.35 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
SNOWFALL WAS A TRACE...WHICH IS 1.1 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. IF IT DOES
NOW SNOW AGAIN...THE TOTAL OF 7.1 INCHES FOR THE SEASON WILL BE 1.9
INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 44.7 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...2.4 DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 74 DEGREES ON THE LAST
DAY....WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 22 ON THE 6TH. TOTAL PRECIPITATION WAS
3.58 INCHES...WHICH IS 2.49 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 48.5 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 2.59
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 79 DEGREES ON
THE LAST DAY...AND THE COLDEST WAS 23 ON THE 5TH AND 6TH.
THERE WERE SEVERAL SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENTS. ON THE SECOND...1 TO
3 INCHES OF SNOW FELL OVER THE PLATEAU...MAINLY AFFECTING THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS. ON THE EVENING OF THE 25TH...A MICROBURST EAST OF LEBANON
CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE.
