WATER VAPOR IMAGERY FEATURES A POTENT/COMPACT SHORTWAVE TROUGH
CROSSING KY/TN EARLY IN THE OVERNIGHT. DEEP LAYER ASCENT TIED TO
THIS FEATURE IS CONTRIBUTING TO A CORRIDOR OF SCATTERED TSTMS ACROSS
MIDDLE/EASTERN TN AND THE ADJACENT PORTIONS OF NORTHERN AL/NORTHWEST
GA AS OF 0330Z. THE 00Z OBSERVED RAOB FROM NASHVILLE IMPLIED AS MUCH
AS 750 J/KG OF MUCAPE...ALTHOUGH MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES HAVE LIKELY
STEEPENED SINCE EARLY THIS EVENING OWING TO THE AFOREMENTIONED MID
LEVEL TROUGH/UPPER COLD POCKET. MODEST INSTABILITY AND FOCUSED
ASCENT/MID LEVEL SPEED MAX...AND RESULTANT MODERATELY STRONG/LARGELY
