AREAS AFFECTED...KY
CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH POSSIBLE
VALID 122214Z - 122315Z
WELL ORGANIZED MCS CONTINUES ITS MOVEMENT ACROSS THE LOWER OH VALLEY
WITH LEADING EDGE OF SQUALL LINE NOW SURGING ESEWD AT ROUGHLY
35-40KT. THIS COMPLEX OF STORMS HAS DEVELOPED A LARGE COLD POOL
BENEATH AN EXPANSIVE SHIELD OF POST SQUALL LINE PRECIPITATION. FOR
THIS REASON THERE IS SOME CONCERN THAT FORWARD PROPAGATION COULD
INCREASE A BIT OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS AS IT SPREADS TOWARD CNTRL
KY. RECENT OBSERVATIONAL DATA SUGGESTS NEAR SEVERE WIND GUSTS ALONG
LEADING EDGE OF STRONGEST CONVECTION WITH 44KT OBSERVED AT KEHR. IF
WIND GUSTS STRENGTHEN SIGNIFICANTLY ALONG THIS LINE...OR REPORTS OF
DAMAGING WINDS INCREASE...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MAY BE
REQUIRED.
