THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
NORTHEAST LOUISIANA
EXTREME SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI
WESTERN TENNESSEE
EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING FROM 1050 PM
UNTIL 500 AM CDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES NORTHWEST OF
DYERSBURG TENNESSEE TO 55 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF MONROE

WILL STILL BE FAVORABLE FOR SUPERCELLS OVERNIGHT AS LOW-LEVEL
MOISTURE INCREASES SLOWLY AND STEEP LAPSE RATES WITH THE MID LEVEL
TROUGH SPREAD EWD. DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL SHOULD BE THE MOST
COMMON THREATS...THOUGH AN ISOLATED TORNADO OR TWO WILL STILL BE
POSSIBLE GIVEN THE STRONG LOW-LEVEL SHEAR.
