VALLEY TODAY...
THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE
DEVELOPMENT OF TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER PARTS
OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY TODAY.
THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE
CENTRAL AND EASTERN ARKANSAS
FAR NORTHERN LOUISIANA
THE BOOTHEEL OF MISSOURI
NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI
WESTERN TENNESSEE
ELSEWHERE...SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE ACROSS THE MID MS
VALLEY.
A WELL ORGANIZED LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE EASTWARDS ACROSS
THE LOWER MS VALLEY THROUGH MID-AFTERNOON. STRONGLY SHEARED LOW
LEVEL WINDS WILL AID IN THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED TORNADOES WITHIN
THIS LINE. HOWEVER THE GREATEST SEVERE THREAT WILL BE DAMAGING WINDS
WITH SOME LARGE HAIL POSSIBLE AS WELL. AN ISOLATED STRONG TORNADO OR
TWO WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH ANY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT FORMS AHEAD
WITHIN THE MODERATE RISK AREA AND AHEAD OF THE MAIN SQUALL LINE.
THOSE IN THE THREATENED AREA ARE URGED TO REVIEW SEVERE WEATHER
SAFETY RULES AND TO LISTEN TO RADIO...TELEVISION...AND NOAA WEATHER
RADIO FOR POSSIBLE WATCHES...WARNINGS...AND STATEMENTS LATER TODAY.
