THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

       PARTS OF EASTERN ARKANSAS
       PARTS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
       PARTS OF SOUTHERN INDIANA
       WESTERN AND PARTS OF CENTRAL KENTUCKY
       PARTS OF NORTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
       SMALL PART OF SOUTHEASTERN MISSOURI
       MUCH OF NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI
       WESTERN AND PARTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE

EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 130 PM UNTIL
900 PM CST.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 75 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES NORTHWEST OF
LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY TO 50 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF GREENVILLE

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

WATCH NUMBER 8. WATCH NUMBER 8 WILL NOT BE IN EFFECT AFTER 130 PM
CST.

DISCUSSION...A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH EMBEDDED SUPERCELLS
CONTINUES EWD FROM BOOTHEEL TO SERN AR.  SHEAR PROFILES REMAIN VERY
STRONG AND WITH AIR MASS CONTINUING TO DESTABILIZE...TORNADO
POTENTIAL EXPECTED TO CONTINUE AND POSSIBLY INCREASE INTO THE
EVENING AS ACTIVITY CONTINUES EWD.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO
