...SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT...
THERE IS A MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING
WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND TORNADOES TUESDAY NIGHT IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
MUCH OF THE AREA WILL BE IN AN UNSEASONABLY LARGE WARM SECTOR
DURING THE DAY TUESDAY...AND AS A RESULT...THE HIGH TEMPERATURES
ON TUESDAY WILL BE NEAR RECORD WARMTH...WITH AFTERNOON HIGHS
EXPECTED IN THE LOWER 70S ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. IN ADDITION...60
DEGREE SURFACE DEWPOINT TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN PLACE ACROSS THE
AREA. THE TEMPERATURE PROFILE WILL SUPPORT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
ACROSS ALL OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE TUESDAY NIGHT.
A MID AND UPPER LEVEL WIND MAX...WILL TRACK FROM THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS TO WESTERN TENNESSEE BY TUESDAY EVENING. THIS WIND
MAX...COUPLED WITH A LOW LEVEL WIND MAX...WILL RESULT IN A HIGHLY
SHEARED WIND PROFILE ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE...THAT WILL BE
FAVORABLE FOR SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS TO FORM DURING THE EVENING.
A FEW OF THESE STORMS MAY CONTAIN DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND
TORNADOES.
BY MIDNIGHT...THE COLD FRONT WILL HAVE REACHED THE MISSISSIPPI
RIVER...WITH A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS JUST AHEAD OF THE
FRONT. THIS LINE WILL MOVE EASTWARD ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE DURING
THE OVERNIGHT HOURS...AND WILL ALSO CONTAIN DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE
HAIL AND THE POSSIBILITY OF TORNADOES. THE LINE OF STORMS SHOULD
REACH THE PLATEAU BY DAYBREAK WEDNESDAY.
PEOPLE IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE WILL NEED TO KEEP ABREAST OF THE WEATHER
ON TUESDAY AND ESPECIALLY TUESDAY NIGHT...LISTEN TO LATER STATEMENTS.
NOW IS THE TIME TO PLAN WHERE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WOULD SEEK
SHELTER SHOULD SEVERE WEATHER THREATEN.
