THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH MIDDLE TENNESSEE ON FRIDAY,
BRINGING THUNDERSTORMS TO THE MID STATE BEGINNING TONIGHT. GIVEN
THE WARM TEMPERATURES AHEAD OF THE FRONT, THE ATMOSPHERE WILL
BECOME INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE. SOME OF THE STORMS MAY BECOME
SEVERE, WITH DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS BEING THE PRIMARY
THREAT.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
LOOK FOR MORE ACTIVE WEATHER ON FRIDAY AS THE COLD FRONT EDGES
INTO MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE IN THE WARM,
UNSTABLE AIR MASS. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THOSE LOCATIONS GENERALLY
NORTHWEST OF NASHVILLE, THE MID STATE IS UNDER A SLIGHT RISK OF
SEVERE WEATHER ON FRIDAY.
THE COLD FRONT WILL BRING CONSIDERABLY COOLER AIR TO MIDDLE
TENNESSEE, WITH THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES EXPECTED ON SUNDAY AND
MONDAY NIGHTS, WHEN TEMPERATURES WILL DIP INTO THE LOWER TO MID
30'S. THUS, THERE IS THE EXPECTATION OF WIDESPREAD FROST MONDAY
AND TUESDAY MORNINGS, ESPECIALLY ALONG THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH MIDDLE TENNESSEE ON FRIDAY,
BRINGING THUNDERSTORMS TO THE MID STATE BEGINNING LATE THIS
AFTERNOON. GIVEN THE WARM TEMPERATURES AHEAD OF THE FRONT, THE
ATMOSPHERE WILL BECOME INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE TONIGHT AND FRIDAY.
SOME OF THE STORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE, WITH DAMAGING WINDS BEING
THE PRIMARY THREAT, ALTHOUGH ISOLATED TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE,
ESPECIALLY IN AREAS WEST OF NASHVILLE.
ALSO, LOOK FOR WINDS TO INCREASE TODAY AS THE SURFACE PRESSURE
GRADIENT BECOME TIGHTER. BY AFTERNOON, SOUTH WINDS WILL INCREASE
TO AROUND 20 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR, WITH OCCASIONAL HIGHER GUSTS,
AND WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING BEFORE DIMINISHING AFTER
MIDNIGHT.
MEANWHILE, HIGH WATER LEVELS AND MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE
ALONG PARTS OF THE TENNESSEE RIVER.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
LOOK FOR THE SEVERE POTENTIAL TO EXTEND INTO FRIDAY AS THE COLD
FRONT EDGES INTO MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOP IN THE WARM, UNSTABLE AIR MASS. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF
THOSE LOCATIONS GENERALLY NORTHWEST OF NASHVILLE, THE MID STATE IS
UNDER A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER ON FRIDAY.
