ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE MID STATE LATE
THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY.
THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER...IN NORMAN OKLAHOMA...IS FORECASTING
A MODERATE RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER TOMORROW FOR THE MIDDLE
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY...WITH THUNDERSTORMS WORKING THEIR WAY TOWARD
MEMPHIS AND JACKSON TENNESSEE ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON. WESTERN PARTS OF
MIDDLE TENNESSEE...AROUND DOVER AND WAVERLY...COULD SEE SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS CROSS THE TENNESSEE RIVER...BY SUNSET TOMORROW.
THE CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF
MID STATE THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY...AS A STRONG COLD FRONT
MARCHES ACROSS THE AREA.
YOU CAN EXPECT WARM AND BREEZY WEATHER DURING THE DAYLIGHT HOURS
TOMORROW. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB INTO THE MID AND
UPPER 70S...AND SOUTH WINDS WILL SOMETIMES GUST TO BETWEEN 35 AND
40 MPH DURING THE AFTERNOON. SOME LOCATIONS...ESPECIALLY IN
SOUTHWESTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... COULD HIT 80 DEGREES TOMORROW
AFTERNOON.
ISOLATED TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE STORMS LATE THURSDAY INTO
THURSDAY NIGHT...AND AREA RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO...ONCE
AGAIN...CHECK PREPAREDNESS PLANS. YOU SHOULD KNOW WHERE TO GO IN
THE EVENT A TORNADO WARNING IS ISSUED FOR YOUR AREA. PLAN AHEAD
AND KEEP A BATTERY POWERED FLASHLIGHT HANDY...JUST IN CASE THE
POWER GOES OUT. AVOID BEING CAUGHT OUTSIDE DURING SEVERE WEATHER...
AND...REMEMBER...NEVER TRY AND OUT RUN A TORNADO IN YOUR CAR. ONE
OF THE SAFEST PLACES TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF
A SUBSTANTIAL STRUCTURE...PREFERABLY UNDER GROUND.
