...LIGHT SNOW FALLING IN EASTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND ALONG
PLATEAU THIS MORNING...
TEMPERATURES HAVE FALLEN INTO THE UPPER 20S AT CROSSVILLE WITH
VISIBILITIES DOWN TO ONE MILE IN LIGHT SNOW. LIGHT SNOW WAS
FALLING AT MONTEREY...WITH ONE HALF INCH ON THE GROUND AT 845
AM...WITH THE TEMPERATURE AT 27 DEGREES. A DUSTING OF SNOW WAS
REPORTED AT WHITE HOUSE...AND AT LIVINGSTON. SEVERAL AREAS
IN EASTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE REPORTED A DUSTING OF SNOW ON THE
GROUND. FLURRIES ARE FALLING IN THE NASHVILLE AREA THIS
MORNING...WITH THE TEMPERATURE AT THE FREEZING MARK.
IN ADDITION TO THE SNOW...WIND GUSTS TO 35 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED DURING
MUCH OF THE DAY ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE. WE HAD A REPORT A SHORT
WHILE AGO...OF A TRACTOR TRAILER FLIPPED OVER BY HIGH WINDS ALONG
INTERSTATE 40...ON THE PLATEAU. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO DRIVE
WITH CAUTION...ESPECIALLY IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. THE WINDS ARE
NOT EXPECTED TO SUBSIDE UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON.
NOT MUCH RECOVERY IN TEMPERATURES TODAY...WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW
TO MIDDLE 30S DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE SNOW WILL GENERALLY TAPER
OFF AS WE GO THROUGH THE MORNING...WITH ONLY FLURRIES ALONG THE
PLATEAU DURING THE AFTERNOON. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION WILL RANGE
FROM A DUSTING IN EASTERN AREAS TO LESS THAN AN INCH ALONG THE
PLATEAU.
TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL FALL INTO THE LOW TO MID 20S ACROSS MIDDLE
TENNESSEE.
THE LAST TIME IT SNOWED ON THIS DATE IN NASHVILLE WAS BACK IN
2003...WHEN WE HAD A TRACE. THE LAST TIME WE HAD MEASURABLE SNOW
ON THIS DATE...WAS WAY BACK IN 1932...WHEN 0.3 INCHES FELL.
