...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT AND DURING THE DAY
SATURDAY...
A DEEP UPPER LOW IS POISED OVER SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO THIS AFTERNOON...
AND WILL BEGIN TO LIFT OUT TOWARD MIDDLE TENNESSEE LATER TONIGHT.
AS A RESULT...RAIN HAS ALREADY SPREAD WELL AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM...AS FAR
EAST AS TENNESSEE AND KENTUCKY THIS AFTERNOON. EXPECT RAINFALL TO
BE HEAVY AT TIMES LATER TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY WESTERN AREAS...AND
SPREAD EASTWARD DURING THE DAY SATURDAY. WE COULD SEE LOCALIZED FLASH
FLOODING IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE ON SATURDAY. RAINFALL TOTALS 2 TO 3
INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING ACROSS MUCH OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE. THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU STANDS TO SEE THE GREATEST RAINFALL
TOTALS DURING THE DAY SATURDAY.
THE SURFACE LOW IS FORECAST TO TRACK THROUGH NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA.
IF THIS PANS OUT...THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL BE DIMINISHED HERE
IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...BUT STRONG STORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY
NEAR THE ALABAMA BORDER LATE TONIGHT AND ON SATURDAY.
