NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
1200 PM CDT THU APR 5 2007

...EF 1 TORNADO IN SOUTHWEST CUMBERLAND COUNTY...

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURVEY HAS DETERMINED THAT A
TORNADO IN SOUTHWEST CUMBERLAND COUNTY WITH EF1 STRENGTH...OR WINDS
OF 86-110 MPH OCCURRED TUESDAY NIGHT APRIL 3 FROM 09:16 PM CDT
THROUGH 09:20 PM CDT. THE TORNADO STARTED ABOUT 7.4 MILES SOUTHWEST
OF LANTANA AND ENDED 3.7 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF LANTANA. IT HAD A
PATH LENGTH OF 5.3 MILES AND WAS 100 YARDS WIDE.

THE TORNADO DESTROYED A MOBILE HOME ON CHEROKEE DRIVE...SHIFTED A
MOBILE HOME OFF ITS FOUNDATION OF DUGGER BRANCH ROAD...DESTROYED THE
ROOF OF A HOME ON CLARENCE BLAYLOCK ROAD...DESTROYED TWO BARNS ON
WILSON WAY. THE OLDER BARN WAS BUILT IN 1902 AND WAS OVER A HUNDRED
YEARS OLD...BUT WAS DESTROYED BY THE TORNADO. ALSO A CAMPER AND BARN
WAS DESTROYED AT 626 THOMAS SPRINGS RD.

NO SIGNIFICANT INJURIES WERE REPORTED. TREES WERE SNAPPED FOR ABOUT
FOURTH TENTHS OF A MILE ALONG THOMAS SPRINGS ROAD AND SOME BARK WAS
PEELED AS WELL. SEVERAL OAK TREES WERE UPROOTED AS WELL.
