...TEMPERATURES GO FROM ONE EXTREME TO THE OTHER...
AFTER A PROLONGED PERIOD OF WARM WEATHER...WITH NEARLY
TWO WEEKS...OF TEMPERATURES AVERAGING 15 TO 20 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL...MIDDLE TENNESSEE IS IN FOR A DRAMATIC
CHANGE TO MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES. TEMPERATURES THURSDAY
MORNING WILL BE AROUND FREEZING FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE
MARCH 18TH. EVEN THOUGH TEMPERATURES WILL REBOUND DURING THE
DAY...LATE NIGHT TEMPERATURES WILL BE AT OR BELOW FREEZING
THROUGH THE EASTER WEEKEND. THE MERCURY EASTER MORNING IS
FORECAST TO REACH 28 DEGREES IN NASHVILLE...WHICH IS ONLY ONE
DEGREE ABOVE THE RECORD FOR THE DATE. THIS WILL LIKELY BE
THE COLDEST EASTER MORNING IN OVER A DECADE.
NORMAL HIGH FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR IS 68 DEGREES AND THE NORMAL
LOW IS 45 DEGREES.
THE AVERAGE DATE FOR THE LAST FREEZE ACROSS MUCH OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE
IS APRIL 10TH. ALONG THE NORTHERN END OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU IT

NASHVILLE HAD ITS WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD THIS YEAR...AND THE
WARMEST SINCE 1946.
TENDER VEGETATION IN EARLY GARDENS...SUCH AS TOMATO AND PEPPER
PLANTS...AND FLOWERS WILL BE SHOCKED BY THE COLDER TEMPERATURES.
IT WOULD BE WISE TO PROTECT THESE YOUNG PLANTS...AND OTHER
VEGETATION IF POSSIBLE.
