...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT SUNDAY...
THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR
* A PORTION OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
AREAS...IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...BENTON...CANNON...CHEATHAM...
CLAY...CUMBERLAND...DAVIDSON...DEKALB...DICKSON...FENTRESS...
HICKMAN...HOUSTON...HUMPHREYS...JACKSON...MACON...MONTGOMERY...
OVERTON...PICKETT...PUTNAM...ROBERTSON...RUTHERFORD...SMITH...
STEWART...SUMNER...TROUSDALE...VAN BUREN...WARREN...WHITE...
WILLIAMSON AND WILSON.
* UNTIL 7 AM CDT SUNDAY
* PERIODS OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT THE AREA AGAIN LATER
TONIGHT AS A STRONG COLD FRONT APPROACHES. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL
OF 1 TO 2 INCHES HAS ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS THE AREA...WITH
ISOLATED SPOTS REPORTING 3 INCHES. ANOTHER INCH OR 2 IS POSSIBLE
OVERNIGHT...AND THIS WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE THE SITUATION.
* HEAVY DOWNPOURS ASSOCIATED WITH THUNDERSTORMS COULD LEAD TO
SUDDEN RAISES IN WATER LEVELS ALONG CREEKS AND SMALL STREAMS.
LOW WATER CROSSINGS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE TO DANGEROUS
FLOODING IN THESE SITUATIONS. NEVER DRIVE THROUGH AREAS WHERE
WATER COVERS THE ROAD. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR AT NIGHT
WHEN WATER LEVELS ARE HARD TO JUDGE.
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
