TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
CENTRAL AND EASTERN ARKANSAS
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
FAR SOUTHWEST INDIANA
WESTERN KENTUCKY
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI INCLUDING THE BOOTHEEL
FAR NORTHWEST TENNESSEE
EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON FROM 845 AM UNTIL
400 PM CDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 65 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF
LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS TO 40 MILES NORTHWEST OF EVANSVILLE INDIANA.

DISCUSSION...SQUALL LINE COMPOSED OF SUPERCELLS AND BOW ECHOES WILL
CONTINUE FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS WW TODAY. AIR MASS IS ALREADY
MODERATELY UNSTABLE AND WILL UNDERGO FURTHER DESTABILIZATION THROUGH
THE MORNING...WITH INSTABILITY AXIS LIKELY BUILDING NNEWD INTO THE
LOWER OH RIVER VALLEY. OVERALL SCENARIO WILL FAVOR A LINEAR-MODE
WITH THREAT OF DAMAGING WINDS...HOWEVER STRONG LOW LEVEL SHEAR WILL
ALSO REMAIN SUPPORTIVE OF TORNADOES.
AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
