FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
530 PM CDT WED MAY 31 2006
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED AN URBAN AND
SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY EFFECTIVE UNTIL 730 PM CDT WEDNESDAY
EVENING FOR EASTERN DAVIDSON COUNTY.
AT 525 PM CDT WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY
RAIN OCCURRING ALONG A LINE OF STATIONARY STORMS EXTENDING FROM
GOODLETTSVILLE, TO JUST WEST OF NASHVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, TO
OAK HILL.
RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES SHOW SEVERAL LOCATIONS ALONG THIS LINE OF
STORMS RECEIVING AS MUCH AS 1.5 INCHES PER HOUR.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS
AND STREAMS, URBAN AREAS, HIGHWAYS, STREETS, UNDERPASSES, AS WELL AS
OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
