THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
CENTRAL PUTNAM COUNTY IN TENNESSEE
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF COOKEVILLE
* UNTIL 930 PM CDT
* AT 622 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN FALLING FROM A STATIONARY THUNDERSTORM OVER
THE COOKEVILLE AND BAXTER AREAS. RADAR INDICATES HOURLY RAINFALL
RATES AS HIGH AS 4 TO 6 INCHES.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ALSO REPORTS SIGNIFICANT ROAD FLOODING IN AND
AROUND COOKEVILLE, WITH SOME ROADS COVERED WITH 3 TO 4 FEET OF
WATER.
* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO BAXTER AND
ALGOOD.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS...STREAMS AND OTHER LOW
LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
