THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
.DAY ONE...REST OF THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT
A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER EASTERN TEXAS IS FORECAST TO
STRENGTHEN OVERNIGHT...AS IT MOVES RAPIDLY EAST ACROSS LOUISIANA...
SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI...SOUTH CENTRAL ALABAMA...AND INTO WEST CENTRAL
GEORGIA BY DAYBREAK SATURDAY.
RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW WAS MOVING INTO THE WEST PORTION OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE AT MID AFTERNOON. SOME REPORTS OF THE RAIN HAVING ALREADY
CHANGED TO ALL SNOW IN THE WEST AND NORTHWEST SECTIONS HAVE BEEN
RECEIVED. AS COLDER AIR MOVES INTO OUR AREA...THE RAIN WILL CHANGE
TO SNOW OVER THE REST OF THE WEST TWO THIRDS OF THE MID STATE THIS
EVENING...AND OVER THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU A TAD LATER TONIGHT. BY
DAYBREAK SATURDAY...SNOWFALL TOTALS WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM 2 TO 4
INCHES...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS UP TO 6 INCHES.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
SNOW WILL DIMINISH OVER THE WEST TWO THIRDS OF THE MID STATE BY
DAYBREAK SATURDAY...BUT SOME SNOW SHOWERS WITH CONTINUE. HOWEVER...
ONLY MINOR ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED. OVER THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU
...ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO AT LEAST LATE MORNING...WITH
ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES...FOR A STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL
OF 3 TO 6 INCHES. ONLY MINOR ACCUMULATIONS WILL OCCUR DURING THE
AFTERNOON THERE ALSO...AS SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS ASKING THAT SPOTTERS AND LOCAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS RELAY ANY SNOWFALL MEASUREMENTS TO
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE VIA HAM RADIO OR BY PHONE.
