...SNOW ACCUMULATION OVER PARTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE TONIGHT...
A WEATHER DISTURBANCE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE
REGION TONIGHT. THIS WILL BRING SNOW TO NORTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
AND THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU...WITH A POSSIBLE MIX OF SNOW AND RAIN IN
THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES OF THE MID STATE.
FOR THE NORTHERN CUMBERLAND PLATEAU...1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW HAS
ALREADY FALLEN...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS GREATER THAN 2 INCHES IN THE
JAMESTOWN AREA. BY 4 AM...THE NORTHERN PLATEAU WILL HAVE SNOW
TOTALS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS IN PARTS OF
FENTRESS COUNTY.
FOR THE SOUTHERN PLATEAU...AMOUNTS AROUND 1 INCH HAVE BEEN
REPORTED. ANOTHER INCH IS POSSIBLE THROUGH THE NIGHT.
ELSEWHERE ACROSS NORTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...REPORTS OF A TRACE TO
LOCALLY NEAR 1 INCH HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. MOST OF THESE AREAS WILL
HAVE ONLY MINOR ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS.
PEOPLE TRAVELING ACROSS THE PLATEAU SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS TONIGHT. SOME SLICK ROADS WILL LIKELY BE FOUND
ACROSS OTHER AREAS OF THE MID STATE AS TEMPERATURES FALL WELL BELOW
FREEZING TONIGHT.
