THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER WAS QUITE WARM AND DRY. AT NASHVILLE
AIRPORT...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 75.1 DEGREES...WHICH IS 3.8
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. RAINFALL ADDED UP TO ONLY 1.44 INCHES...WHICH
IS 2.15 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 91 DEGREES...WHICH OCCURRED ON SEVERAL
DAYS. THE COOLEST TEMPERATURE WAS 50 DEGREES ON THE 30TH.
THE BIG WEATHER STORY FOR THE MONTH WAS THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE
RITA...WHICH VISITED THE MID STATE ON THE 25TH. STRONG WINDS CAUSED
SOME DAMAGE IN LAWRENCE COUNTY. ONE TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN FELL
ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF THE REGION.
CROSSVILLE AVERAGED 69.8 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH...WHICH IS 2.8 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL. THE TOTAL RAINFALL WAS 2.44 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.47
INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 87 DEGREES ON THE
14TH...WHILE THE COLDEST WAS 44 DEGREES ON THE 30TH.
CLARKSVILLE AVERAGED 72.4 DEGREES FOR THE MONTH AND TABULATED 1.36
INCHES OF RAIN. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS 90 DEGREES ON SEVERAL
DAYS...AND THE COLDEST WAS 42 DEGREES ON THE 30TH.
