THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
EXTREME SOUTHEAST INDIANA
CENTRAL KENTUCKY
MIDDLE TENNESSEE
EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1115 AM UNTIL 600
PM CST.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 50 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 45 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF
LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY TO 80 MILES SOUTH OF NASHVILLE TENNESSEE. FOR

DISCUSSION...A NARROW LINE OF LOW-TOPPED THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD
INTENSIFY THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS CENTRAL KY/MIDDLE TN IN ADVANCE OF
THE SURFACE COLD FRONT. SURFACE TEMPERATURES WARMING INTO THE LOWER
70S AND UPPER 50 DEWPOINTS WILL SUPPORT WEAK SURFACE-BASED CAPE...IN
AN ENVIRONMENT OF VERY STRONG LOW-LEVEL SHEAR. DAMAGING WINDS
SHOULD BE THE MAIN THREAT WITH BOWING SEGMENTS...THOUGH A COUPLE OF
TORNADOES MAY OCCUR WITH COMPLEX STRUCTURES IN THE LINE GIVEN 0-1 KM
SRH IN EXCESS OF 300 M2/S2.
AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 1 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
