...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST TUESDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE TN HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG
ADVISORY.
REPORTS OF SURFACE VISIBILITY FROM WEATHER STATIONS AROUND THE AREA
AND LAW ENFORCEMENT INDICATE THAT FOG HAS BECOME DENSE IN SEVERAL
PLACES IN THE EASTERN HALF OF THE MIDSTATE TO THE EAST OF A LINE
FROM LAFAYETTE TO PULASKI. TULLAHOMA POLICE REPORT VISIBILITY
HAS DROPPED VERY LOW AND IS MAKING DRIVING HAZARDOUS. THE OVERTON
COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ALSO INDICATES VERY LOW VISIBILITY IN
SPOTS ALONG AREA ROADWAYS. SPARTA AWOS SITE REPORTED LOW
VISIBILITY ALONG WITH PULASKI IN GILES COUNTY. WEATHER STATIONS AT
SHELBYVILLE...TULLAHOMA AND LIVINGSTON ARE REPORTING NEAR ZERO
VISIBILITIES.
A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN DENSE FOG WILL SUBSTANTIALLY
REDUCE VISIBILITIES, RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS IN
SOME AREAS. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE CAUTION AND SLOW DOWN, AS
OBJECTS ON AND NEAR ROADWAYS WILL BE SEEN ONLY AT CLOSE RANGE.
