...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES UNTIL 700 PM CDT FOR DAVIDSON
COUNTY...
AT 616 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO
INDICATE A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING OVER
NORTHERN DAVIDSON COUNTY. THE STORMS ARE BEGINNING TO MOVE A LITTLE
MORE TOWARD THE NORTH AND OUT OF THE DOWNTOWN AREA. THIS SHOULD
ALLOW FOR RAPID RUNOFF OF WATER FROM ROADWAYS AND INTO DRAINAGE
AREAS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE INCH ARE POSSIBLE OVER
NORTHERN DAVIDSON COUNTY...NORTH OF THE DOWNTOWN AREA. THIS ADDITIONAL
RAINFALL WILL ONLY COMPOUND PROBLEMS IN AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED
A COUPLE OF INCHES OF RAIN IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.
FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS OCCUR
IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER COVERED BRIDGES...
DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...
EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER
GROUND.
